Two works will be part of the exhibition «Shapes» at the Grosse Pointe Artist Association gallery, opening this Saturday with a gallery talk at 2 PM.
The show explores shape as one of the seven elements of art, and I’ll be showing two works that approach it in very distinct ways:

The Unfolding
Organic, rock-like shapes in warm ochres, honey tones and soft blues spill into each other like shifting landscape and skin, blending abstract and organic forms inspired by the intricate patterns and textures found in nature.

Found at Sea
Hundreds of small, knife-painted shapes form the painting ‘Found at Sea’. Like stained glass or mosaic, each petal-like mark becomes a tile in shifting patterns that invite the viewer to wander and piece together their own story across the surface.
