About the Artist

Kristine Heggem Brokstad is a painter with a diverse background that spans countries and vocations. Born in Norway in 1994, her passion for art led her to study several years under the esteemed Norwegian classical painter Bjørn Algrim, before moving to Detroit, United States. Exploring both figurative and abstract expressions in her work, she finds inspiration in the realms of nature and the human experience.

She holds a MSc. and BSc. in Political Science from the University of Oslo and a BSc. in International Management from BI Norwegian Business School, where she was awarded for graduating with the highest GPA in her class. During her years of studies in Oslo, New York, and Oregon, she has taken courses in politics, economics, philosophy, psychology, and communications, yet her allurement towards the arts has always been evident. In addition to painting, she writes music, sings, and plays the guitar and piano.
